Unclogging the garbage disposal drain, the organic way in five easy steps

If nothing is caught in the garbage disposal and you simply need to unclog any food or grease buildup, this is a great method.

Ingredients needed: pot of boiling water, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup white vinegar

Step 1 – Pour the pot of boiling water down the drain.

Step 2 – Dump the baking soda into the drain.

Step 3 – Pour the white vinegar down the drain.

Step 4 – Cover your drain with drain cover or kitchen cloth and let sit for 10 minutes.

Step 5 – Remove cloth and run your faucet with very hot water for 3 – 5 minutes.

All done.

Substitute If you don't have any eggs

Using Chia Seeds in Place of an Egg:

Mix 1 TB chia seeds with 2 1/2 TB water. Let soak for 20 minutes. You can use in place of an egg in recipes. It is an excellent source of protein and a great binder in recipes that require an egg.

Organic Weed Killer

To kill Weeds, mix one gallon of vinegar, 1 TB of dish detergent ( I find Dawn works best) and 1 cup of Epsom salt. Mix well and pour into a spray bottle. The large pump spray containers you can buy at your local hardware stores work great when using over large areas.

Spray liberally over weeded areas on a hot sunny morning. Caution, this works really well to kill plant growth, so be careful not to accidently spray your plants or healthy grass.
